When I first started shopping for a dehumidifier for my family, I found the whole process really confusing.

There are so many types of dehumidifiers – with different features, different capacities, and different technologies.

I went down a rabbit hole of internet research before eventually picking one.  I wish I hadn’t waited so long!

What I didn’t fully realize at the time was just how big of a difference it would make for the comfort of our home.  We live in a super humid area that can feel extremely hot in summer and really cold in winter, and our dehumidifier ended up making a big difference in how comfortable the air feels even at the same temperature.

A few years later my husband started a wood shop, and needed a bigger industrial dehumidifier to help maintain the right humidity for storing wood.  I helped do a lot of research again, and this time I decided to post what I found online.

I ended up getting a lot of comments and questions, so I just kept answering them and adding to the site.  Now that I know the questions to ask and where to find dehumidifier specifications and information, it’s a lot easier so I do my best to update the site as new dehumidifier models come out.
