Soleus Air began manufacturing air compressors and air conditioning units in 1998. They have since expanded in production of air conditioners and other quality air products. Today, they have multiple dehumidifiers for sale.
If you’re on the hunt for a dehumidifier for your home, you’ll likely find just the right size for you among the line of Soleus dehumidifiers. Upon researching, however, I’ve found most to be either old models or out of stock.
I picked three models that are currently available in online retailers. Soleus Air dehumidifiers have some unique features you may find appealing. Older models have mixed reviews. There aren’t many reviews for the newer ones yet, but the amount of negative feedback is simply hard to ignore.
Still, you’re the one who makes the decisions. Let the following Soleus dehumidifier reviews guide you in choosing the right one.

Reviews of the Best Soleus Air Dehumidifiers
This 25-pint model is the smallest in the newest line of Soleus Air dehumidifiers. It removes 25 pints of excess moisture per day in an area up to 600 square feet. Other models come with a 35-pint and 50-pint capacity. Like most modern units, this Soleus dehumidifier has an Energy Star rating.
The digital control panel with adjustable humidistat displays the current humidity and preferred setting. Just set your ideal humidity level from 35% to 80% and the unit maintains the room humidity accordingly.
You may also choose from three pre-set humidity settings with MyHome modes unique to Soleus dehumidifiers. These settings aim to maximize your comfort based on the location you’re operating the dehumidifier: Sleeping Space, set at 55% humidity, Living Space at 50%, or Basement at 45%.
Set a timer to automatically turn the unit on or off up to 10 hours in 30-minute increments, or up to 24 hours in one hour increments. There are three fan speeds: High, Medium, and Low.
This Soleus dehumidifier has an 8.3-pint bucket. The unit will shut off and alert you when the bucket is full. To enable continuous operation with gravity drain functionality, attach a standard garden hose to the outlet and place the unit near a floor drain.
This unit has the auto defrost feature that allows for low temperature operation down to 41F. In the event of a power interruption, auto restart automatically continues operation with the previous settings once power is restored.
Some of the modern features you’ll find in a newer Soleus dehumidifier is the mirage display and Tri-Pat technology. The mirage display indicates the room’s ambient humidity level in a way that so that you can see it from the other side of the room. The Tri-Pat Certified safety technology is patented by Soleus Air. To prevent overheating, the unit features a temperature sensor on the compressor, an automatic compressor cool-down cycle, and an electrical wiring sensor.
This Soleus Air dehumidifier extracts 45 pints of moisture per day. It is also available in 30-pint and 70-pint with built-in pumps. The 45-pint and 70-pint dehumidifiers are Energy Star rated.
The unit features easy-to-use digital controls as seen on other modern Soleus Air dehumidifiers. Choose your preferred humidity level from 35% to 80% and the unit automatically adjusts the room humidity. With MyHome modes you may also choose from three pre-programmed humidity levels for sleeping spaces, living spaces, or basements, at 55% RH, 50% RH, or 45%, respectively.
Set a timer to automatically turn the unit on or off up to 10 hours in 30-minute increments, or up to 24 hours in one hour increments. There are three fan speeds: Low, where the air flows at 111 cubic feet per minute (CFM); Medium, at 129 CFM; and High, at 147 CFM. The fan continues to run when the compressor is off in order to circulate the air.
When the 8.5-pint bucket is full, the unit will shut off and the Bucket Full indicator will light up. For continuous use, attach a standard garden hose to the outlet and place the unit near a floor drain to allow for gravity drainage.
This model features a mirage display for easy monitoring of humidity levels. It also has the standard auto defrost and auto restart functions.
This is the smallest unit among the high capacity Soleus dehumidifiers. It removes up to 95 pints of moisture per day. Unlike the first two models, this one is not Energy Star rated.
This high capacity unit has all the standard features found in a Soleus dehumidifier. The digital controls display the current humidity and the referred settings from 35% to 80% in 5% increments. You have the same three MyHome modes and the programmable timer. There are three fan speeds: 300 CFM on Low, 350 CFM on Medium, and 400 CFM on High setting.
The 10.6-pint bucket is considerably small for a 95-pint unit. When operating at full capacity continuously, you may have to empty the bucket up to 9 times during a 24 hour cycle. If you don’t want to do this, you have continuous drainage options. Just attach a hose to the drainage port on the back of the dehumidifier to allow gravity to pull the water into the floor drain. For your convenience, this model also has an internal condensate pump. It can move water in any direction – up into a sink, out through a window, or anywhere else suitable.
Easy-to-use Digital Controls
The digital display on the center shows the current humidity and the preferred humidity setting. Press the arrow buttons to select the desired humidity level from 35% to 80% in 5% increments. The unit cycles on and off to maintain the humidity level chosen.
Every Soleus Air dehumidifier has three fan speeds. Press the FAN SPEED button to choose from the different fan speeds: High, Medium, and Low. There are indicator lights to distinguish the three.
Soleus Air’s unique MyHome mode allows users to easily move the unit from one room to another. Select one of the pre-programmed humidity settings based on the location of the unit. Press the MODE button to choose from Sleeping Space (55%), Living Space (50%) or Basement (45%).
If you want the dehumidifier to run continuously, press the button until you get to the Continuous setting. When operating the unit for the first time, run it on Continuous mode for 24 hours.
You can program the Soleus dehumidifier to turn on or turn off automatically. To program the unit to automatically turn on, press the TIMER button when the unit is off. Set the timer in 30 minute increments up to 10 hours, and one hour increments up to 24 hours. To program the unit to automatically turn off, just do the same thing while the unit is on.
Soleus models also feature the Child-Lock mode which locks the control panel to prevent children from accidentally changing the settings. Press and hold the TIMER button for 3 seconds to lock or unlock the control panel. When it’s locked, the LOCK indicator will light up.
Bucket Full Indicator
When the water bucket is full, the unit will automatically shut off. The Bucket Full indicator will light up and a beeping sound will alert the user. The bucket can be accessed on the front of the unit. The dehumidifier will not function until the bucket is emptied and put back into the unit properly. To ensure optimum performance, clean the bucket with mild detergent once every few weeks.
Soleus Air dehumidifiers have a washable and reusable filter to catch dust and other airborne particles and maintain proper functioning. The Clean Filter indicator will light up after 250 hours of operation as a reminder to clean the filter. Remove the filter from the back of the unit and clean it with warm, soapy water. Let the filter dry completely before reinstalling. Press the FILTER button to reset the filter indicator.
Newer models by Soleus have a Mirage Display feature which shows the current humidity level on the front of the unit to be easily seen from across the room. Press the MIRAGE button to turn the Mirage Display on and once again to turn it off.
What Customers Say About Soleus Air Dehumidifiers
Based solely on specifications and trademark features, Soleus Air offers some of the best dehumidifiers in the market today. However, if the low to average customer ratings are any indication, Soleus dehumidifiers are far from the best.
One common issue among Soleus Air dehumidifier reviews is the durability of their products. They seem to work just fine for a few months, then start to malfunction within a year or two. Customer service isn’t helpful at all. Some users report that the warranty isn’t honored or they receive no responses when they try to get a replacement.
Most of these reviews are on different models from a few years ago. The exact numbers are a meager fraction of that on other dehumidifiers, but the ratio of critical to positive feedback should say a lot. Soleus dehumidifier reviews are few and far between, and there isn’t nearly enough feedback on newer models as of this writing, so the judgment rests on you now.
