Kesnos PD253D

Kesnos PD253D 70-pint Dehumidifier

The best-selling dehumidifier by Kesnos is the PD253D model. It removes a maximum of 70 pints of moisture in the air under 95°F and 90% humidity. It can handle up to 4,500 square feet large spaces like your home basement or a whole open apartment. If you’re concerned about looks, this high-capacity dehumidifier features a modern design that will fit even in your living room. Although it’s sold as a 70-pint dehumidifier, note that the amount of water collected will be much lesser in actual use.

What you’ll first notice about this dehumidifier is it’s built with a more compact footprint and a top exhaust that wraps around the control panel. This dehumidifier design is also available in 34-pint capacity. You can find the humidity display at the center of the touchscreen panel. Set the humidity level from 30% to 85% RH and the unit will smartly sense room humidity and cycle on and off to maintain your setting.

You can also find the 24-hour Delay On and Off timer as well as the adjustable fan speeds on the screen. Choose between dehumidifying or dry clothes function or turn off the LED panel lights. This unit also has a Lock button to prevent children from accidentally changing the settings. In case of a power outage, the auto-restart function will resume the unit’s operation in your last settings.

This 70-pint dehumidifier is incredibly light and compact due to its small water tank. It has the standard auto shut-off feature and alarm when the tank is full. With a 4.5-liter/1.18-gallon tank capacity, you may need to empty it multiple times a day. While this is an easy enough task, most people would prefer to utilize the continuous drain feature. Attach the included 6.56-ft (2 meters) hose to allow the unit to drain via gravity.

Like most compressor dehumidifiers, this Kesnos unit will activate the auto defrost function when operating in lower temperatures. While it is not Energy Star certified, this unit consumes very little power, a maximum of 400 Watts.

Pros
• High moisture removal rate
• Compact and portable design
• Easy-to-use intelligent controls
• Continuous drain option with hose included
Cons
• Small tank capacity for its size
• Not Energy Star rated

Kesnos PD160A

Kesnos PD160A Dehumidifier

The Kesnos PD160A removes as much as 34 pints of moisture per day in areas as large as 2,500 square feet. The actual capacity is comparable to a 20 or 22-pint Energy Star unit. It has a typical structure like most other residential dehumidifiers with an air intake on the back and exhaust at the top.

The control panel is very easy to use. With its humidity auto control, you can select the humidity between 30% and 80% in 5% increments. If you set the humidity at 30%, the unit operates in Continuous mode. Aside from the power button, the control panel includes four simple buttons including humidity setting, timer function, fan speed, and lock button.

The Timer allows you to program the unit to automatically stop or start operation after one to 24 hours. The digital display shows the current humidity or remaining time, and the indicator lights determine the operation status.

The Kesnos PD160A has a 0.66 gallon/2.5L water tank with the corresponding auto-shutoff feature and the “Full” indicator light. If you want to run your dehumidifier continuously, attach the included drain hose to the drainage outlet on the back of the unit to allow gravity drainage. Unlike other models, Kesnos doesn’t work with a standard garden hose due to the drain outlet diameter.

In low temperatures, the unit will activate auto defrost mode to melt the ice that may damage the machine. Additionally, this unit comes with a washable air filter that is easily accessible for cleaning to maintain air quality. This portable dehumidifier is ideal for a laundry room, garage, small basement, or bathroom. It’s also useful even in a bedroom since it has a fairly low noise level (below 50 decibels). The extendable top handle and rotatable wheels make room-to-room movement a breeze. The air outlet on top is also adjustable to help dry laundry and the air filter ensures cleaner air. Although it’s not Energy Star rated, this Kesnos unit has good energy efficiency paired with its easy-to-use controls and affordable price.

Pros
• Light and portable
• Quiet operation
• Continuous drainage with hose included
Cons
• Small tank
• Not Energy Star certified

Kesnos PD08A-18

Kesnos PD08A-18 Dehumidifier

For slightly bigger spaces or damper rooms, this portable Kesnos dehumidifier can remove a maximum of 50 pints of moisture per day in areas up to 3500 square feet. The design and capacity in actual use can be compared to a 30-pint or 35-pint model. It’s also available in 100-pint capacity.

The intelligent humidity control system allows you to adjust humidity levels from 30% to 80% and the unit will continuously manage humidity to your preferred level. The digital display at the center of the panel as well as the soft light display on the front shows an accurate humidity level readout. You have options to set a 24-hour on/off timer, or select Drying, Dehumidifying, and Continuous mode, along with Low and High fan speeds. You can also adjust the lighting in case you’re running the dehumidifier at night.

This Kesnos dehumidifier has a small water tank with a capacity of 0.6 gallons or 2.5 liters, equipped with the standard auto shutoff feature and Full Tank indicator light. Most users will opt to use the included 6.56 ft drain hose for continuous drainage. One thing we don’t like is the lack of Defrost indicator light. This means the unit will stop operation and defrost without notifying the user. It’s not the same as the top-rated 50-pint dehumidifiers today, but it works well in small areas such as bedrooms, bathrooms, and even offices. It also looks good and operates quietly.

Pros
• Light and portable
• Continuous drainage with hose included
• Quiet operation
Cons
• Small tank
• No Defrost indicator

Kesnos PD900AC-90L

Kesnos PD900AC-90L Dehumidifier

This Kesnos commercial dehumidifier features a large water removal capacity of 232 pints at saturation (90% RH, 90°F). With a powerful 647 CFM airflow, it can cover huge spaces up to 8,000 square feet. The whole body is made of high-quality sheet metal material to ensure the toughness and sturdiness of the unit. The housing also features anti-oxidation and anti-corrosion to protect the components and operate efficiently even in harsh environments. It’s ideal for many different applications to control dehumidification in commercial spaces, warehouses, workshops, and even residential areas damaged by flood or other water accidents.

This heavy-duty dehumidifier features a digital display that shows the current humidity and temperature, and four buttons with a built-in humidistat for automatic humidity control. The adjustable humidity range from 10% to 98% can be set in 1% increments. The unit will start dehumidifying only if the ambient humidity is at least 3% higher than your setting and stop when it’s 3% lower.

The unit comes with a drain hose for continuous drainage. Just make sure to attach properly and direct the hose down towards the drain to allow gravity to pull the water smoothly. Although, the hose may be too short for large spaces. If needed, you can use a separate condensate pump for drainage. This unit is also equipped with the standard auto shut-off, auto defrost, and auto restart functions for efficient operation. In comparison to similar-sized dehumidifiers, Kesnos offers some of the cheapest units. If you need a commercial dehumidifier for extreme temperatures or harsher conditions, then this may not be the right unit for you.

Pros
• High moisture removal rate
• Large coverage area
• Compact and portable
• Continuous draining with hose
Cons
• Short drain hose
• No built-in pump

Kesnos PDGT701BC

Kesnos PDGT701BC Dehumidifier

One of Kesnos’ newest dehumidifiers is this portable industrial dehumidifier. It can remove up to 180 pints of moisture per day at saturation with a maximum airflow of 294 CFM. It’s ideal for eliminating moisture in water damage restoration sites, carpet cleaning, drying construction areas, and other large commercial spaces up to 7,000 square feet. It features a rotomolded polyethylene housing and two large wheels that can endure rugged use.

This portable dehumidifier features an easy-to-use digital display, control panel, and buttons to change the operation settings. Select your ideal indoor humidity from 10% to 95% RH, and set the operation duration with the 24-hour timer.

The panel includes a screen that shows the current humidity level or set humidity, as well as light indicators for the Timer, Pump, and Defrost mode. The auto-restart feature ensures that the unit will automatically resume operation in your last settings in case of power outages.

This Kesnos commercial dehumidifier comes with a built-in condensate pump and a 10-ft long drain hose that can push out water up to 15 feet vertically. Like other compressor-based dehumidifiers, this unit declines performance in colder environments down to 41°F. If frost accumulates, the automatic defrost function will be activated to melt the ice. Currently, there are only a handful of reviews for this specific unit and it’s too early to judge how reliable it will be after continued use in harsh environments.

Pros
• High moisture removal rate
• Rugged, rotomolded housing
• With built-in pump and long drain hose
Cons
• Less effective in low temperatures

Consumer Feedback on Kesnos Dehumidifiers

Kesnos offers a wide range of dehumidifiers for many different applications, and all of these products come with a standard one-year warranty and an additional year if you register your product on the site.

A number of users note that the pint capacities advertised may be far from the unit’s actual performance. For example, the Kesnos 70-pint dehumidifiers are closer to Energy Star certified 50-pint models in terms of daily moisture removal rate. According to the 2019 Department of Energy standards, these dehumidifiers are tested at 65°F and 60% humidity, which gives a more realistic representation of the unit’s performance, as opposed to the 2012 standards of 80°F and 60% humidity.

However, Kesnos dehumidifiers are advertised using ratings under 95°F and 90% humidity. This means the pint capacity advertised is actually a lot larger than the amount of moisture the dehumidifier will collect in normal use.

In any case, Kesnos dehumidifiers are generally well-received due to their compact design, quiet operation, and affordable price. Although they are not the most energy-efficient dehumidifiers today, they offer a good cheap alternative to high-end brands. Alternatives to Kesnos Dehumidifiers

If you don’t think Kesnos has the right dehumidifier for you, below are a few alternatives we can recommend depending on your needs.

For common household use, some of the top-rated portable dehumidifiers include Frigidaire, hOmeLabs, Vremi, and Honeywell. These Energy Star certified models are typically available in 50-pint, 30-pint, or 20-pint sizes. Having an Energy Star certification means you can expect them to perform more closely as advertised and also reduce energy consumption.

If you want something similar in value and functionality as Kesnos, some of its closest competitors are Colzer, Waykar, and Airplus. In fact, you can argue that some of the units from each of these brands look exactly the same.
For commercial spaces, some of the best USA-made products you can get for a reasonable price are Aprilaire and AlorAir. For more information, we have detailed guides in choosing a commercial dehumidifier for many different purposes.
