Mold and air humidity can affect office buildings as much as they can affect homes, but the volumes of moisture are higher and they require a larger and more powerful dehumidifier. In case you notice mold spores at your office, you need to use a commercial model and the Dri-Eaz F203-A could be exactly what you need. The $1,485 price tag is not the highest you can find but this is due to the lack of many features that are available in other models.
Unlike the other larger versions, this one is more compact so it’s easier to carry and fit in any room. It measures 30” x 20” x 19.5” and weighs around 80 pounds, which puts it among the medium-size units. The rugged rotomolded housing is made of a strong and durable plastic that ensures long usage without showing any sign of wear. The interesting part is the stackable design that allows you to store things on top of the dehumidifier for convenient storage. Thanks to the large semi-pneumatic wheels and the rigid telescopic handle, it can be easily transported and moved around. The user-friendly electronic touchpad controls make it very easy to set up and operate, even if you are not familiar with these devices.
The ideal humidity that should be maintained is around 45 or 50% so the air will be dry enough for mold to stay away and moist enough for you to breathe. The Dri-Eaz F203-A can remove up to 15 gallons of water every day so you can use it in large rooms with serious humidity issues. It uses a 6670 BTU rotary compressor that can work in temperatures varying between 33 and 100 degrees Fahrenheit so you can place it in very cold rooms without worrying about potential ice buildup.
For added convenience, it comes with a continuous drainage feature so you can forget about manual emptying. It includes a centrifugal water pump that throws the water out through a hose in order to avoid over filling. This makes it useful for unattended use in basements or workplaces where it would be hard for you to constantly empty the bucket. For a commercial type, it is quite silent, with a 34 dB noise level.
You will not find a humidistat that would regulate the operating of the dehumidifier in order to maximize performance and minimize the energy use, which would be a very useful feature. According to the manufacturer, you can add a humidistat if you want to maximize its efficiency, but it could result in some water leaks. Also, there is no automatic shut off feature but this is because it doesn’t include a water bucket. However, an automatic restart in case of power failure would have been useful, but this model doesn’t include that either.
The air absorbed is passed through a vacuumable High Airflow filter that removes some of the impurities so the quality of the indoor air will be improved. Also, the fans run continuously in order to improve air circulation so the device will sense the room’s humidity level.

This commercial unit draws 6.4 amps on a 115V power supply for energy efficiency, but the lack of some useful features make it less convenient than other competitive models. Compared to other commercial units, this one is not the most advanced that can offer you the latest technologies that combine performance and energy efficiency. However, it’s a good choice with an average energy consumption.
Once you purchase it, you will enjoy a limited 1-year warranty, which is the average time you will find in most commercial dehumidifiers. For any inconvenience you might experience with it, the manufacturer offers a prompt customer service via fax, phone and email details so you can contact a technician, as well as live chat where you can find answers to all your questions.
